Sunday Papers brings comedy, poetry, games, walks, canal trips, workshops, kids’ entertainment, interactive performance, amazing food and incredible debates & discussions together under one banner – to provide nothing less than the ultimate Sunday.
Cecil Sharp House, The home of the English Folk Dance & Song Society is transformed into a giant living room packed full of sofas, pillows, rugs and settees, with slippers, smoking jackets, knitting, and cats encouraged. Sit back and see the broadsheets brought to life by poets, politicians, musicians, actors and writers – section by section, performance by performance, – covering UK and world news, travel, style, culture, business, and more. I have been promised, some will be silly, some serious, some will make me dance on the tables.
This is Sunday Papers Live’s 7th edition and there are more to come this year including a stand alone event at August Bank Holiday weekend, as well as sections at festivals. This Edition features The EU referendum and the refugee crisis . Legendary writer, journalist, and filmmaker Tariq Ali will be in attendance as a guest columnist – laying out his thoughts on Britain’s place in the EU.Newsweek’s digital editor Serena Kutchinsky chairs a discussion with editor-in-chief of Vice UK Rebecca Nicholson, and John Oliver’s writing partner, the comedian Andy Zalzman from The Bugle. Frontline Club and the charity Help Refugees present the world news section, with a discussion chaired by Channel 4 News’ international editor Lindsey Hilsum, and featuring the Guardian’s migration correspondent Patrick Kingsley and photographer Giles Duley, who have been documenting the human stories behind a wave of migration not seen since the end of World War II. They are joined by the refugee Hassan Akkad and Radio X presenter Lliana Bird.
Celebrated Indian activist and editor of Resurgence & Ecologist magazine Satish Kumar takes on the gardening section. A slot previously tackled by Green Party leader Natalie.

massages, life drawing, live music, board games. Alongside this is are eco-chefs Tom Hunt & Marente Van Der Valk cooking the perfect brunches and roasts and Vestel Vodka providing Bloody Marys.
All of this and there’s even a free creche for the kids – a den of games, books, fancy dress, arts, and crafts to keep them entertained for a couple of hours while you enjoy some of the activities.
This sounds to me like the perfect Sunday. So perfect in fact I am making it my 30th birthday outing!
