“Once upon a time, there was a beautiful young girl whose stepmother always made her stay home with the baby. And the baby was a spoiled child, and wanted everything to himself, and the young girl was practically a slave. But what no one knew is that the king of the goblins had fallen in love with the girl, and he had given her certain powers. So one night, when the baby had been particularly cruel to her, she called on the goblins for help!”
And, you can imagine my excitement when news came that Sarah may be calling the goblins for help once more…
My laptop has a decal of The Goblin King on it and just yesterday I was bugging someone with my seemingly endless number of facts about the filming of The Labyrinth so, when I heard the news from a Brian Henson interview that they are not only working on a sequel but that,
“We are working on a theatrical adaptation of the original movie for the stage. Those are the two areas of excitement for the Labyrinth property that we have. We are working on both of those but I certainly don’t have a timeline for them.”
What is even more exciting is there is the suggestion that it would come to the West End first and not head to necessarily head to Broadway. There may not be a timeline but I will be waiting in anticipation from now.
Brian Henson said “It’s very exciting”
YOU DON’T SAY!
