Preview: Dinner with the Twits @Twitsdinner @TheVaultsUk @BompasandParr

“You are cordially invited to the worst dinner party in the world, at the residence of the revolting Mr and Mrs Twit”

Usually, when my less known-for-their-culinary-skills friends invite me for dinner, I suggest we treat ourselves to take away or go out instead but on this occasion, things are, surprisingly, different.download (2)

Celebrating a hundred years of Roald Dahl, in a year filled with gloriumptious treats, Dinner at the Twits is designed specifically for grown-ups – no chiddlers allowed! Roald Dahl’s unique blend of macabre humour and quirky warmth has endeared him to generations of children and adults and I don’t doubt that it will continue.

From the award-winning team behind Alice’s Adventures Underground, in association with culinary geniuses Bompas & Parr, for the very first time, one of Roald Dahl’s titles has been adapted into an immersive production specifically for adults and it includes dinner, why on earth wouldn’t I want to go?

Dinner at the Twits promised to be a gloriously gruesome interactive theatrical dining experience that will blow my mind and tickle your tastebuds. I have previously been to the Faulty Towers Dining experience the_twits_roald_dalh_london-20160630094222967and had a thoroughly entertaining evening, but add this time to that one of my childhood favourite author’s stories and possibly his most superbly appalling characters and I cannot imagine or more exciting evening.

I have been warned though, the meal may have me shouting “I am a theatre blogger get me out of here.” An evening banquet which includes deliciously disgusting dishes, to be enjoyed with homemade cocktails, Mr Twit’s special brew and Mrs Twit’s potent punch. YUM

I have no doubt that this is going to be incredibly popular with all those people who loved Roald Dahl as a child and are now reading them to their addiechinn.comCapture0034web_600_375_85own children (possibly with a slight grimace as they realise just how gruesome some of the stories are – but that’s the wonderment of them isn’t it?!)

Dinner at the Twits will run at The Vaults in Waterloo from 4 September to 30 October.

Tickets priced at £80-£110 available from http://www.twitsdinner.com / 0844 248 1215

Minimum age 14+, recommended for 16+. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
